Mr Marc Boucherat
I am currently Senior Lecturer in Teacher Development at the University of Winchester with a specific brief to build and develop the university’s work with teaching schools and alliances. My area of research and interest is school to school support and system leadership. Until April 2012 I was head of Primary School Effectiveness in Hertfordshire and prior to that a senior adviser and school improvement partner.
I started teaching in 1983 and have extensive successful primary school teaching and leadership experience in primary schools in North London and South Hertfordshire and across a wide range of curriculum areas. I was head teacher at St Joseph’s Junior school in Barnet, North London, for ten years between 1994 and 2004, leading the school to be one of the first to be recognised as ‘outstandingly effective’ by OFSTED in 2001.
Between 2003 and 2004, whilst a serving head teacher I supported schools in challenging circumstances as a national consultant leader. I completed Ofsted training in 2005 and was accredited as a School Improvement Partner (SIP) in 2006.
