Mrs Annette O’Connor
After becoming a qualified teacher in Classical Ballet, Modern Theatre, Tap and National dance, I left Theatre School to become a professional dancer/choreographer, and was involved in numerous theatre productions, musicals, opera, cabaret and fashion both in the UK and abroad.
Having retired from the stage in order to start a family, I began to freelance, teaching children and students, in a number of theatre schools, before eventually starting my own theatre school in Kingsbury and Colindale.
In 1998, I began to work at St Joseph’s as a volunteer, and by 1999 was employed as a Teaching Assistant. I have since gained HLTA status with a Specialism in Literacy, and returned to St Joseph’s two years ago, having worked at two other primary schools.
I have knowledge of a variety of Special Educational needs, and am dedicated to removing barriers to learning for pupils with additional needs. I also enjoy teaching dance to the children at St Joseph’s.
I live in Colindale with my husband Des, and my three children have all attended St Joseph’s, the youngest currently in Year 4. We are practicing Catholics and attend Ss Sebastian and Pancras Parish.
St Joseph’s is a very special place.
We are blessed with an excellent team of teachers, teaching assistants and support staff, together with a very proactive governing body which makes education at St Joseph’s really enjoyable.
It is a pleasure and a privilege to serve on the Governing Board.
