Mrs Lisa Sturley
I joined the Governing Body of St Joseph’s in October 2016. Prior to this I was Chair of Governors at St Catherine’s School in High Barnet for 7 years, where the school was judged outstanding by OFSTED in all categories in 2009 and subsequent Challenge Partner and BPSI reviews supported this judgement. I have been a Governor for 14 years during my time at St Catherine’s I participated in two OFSTED inspections, appointed two head teachers, oversaw a large building project and dealt with most issues that are escalated to the Governing Body in primary schools. I also supported the Chair, Head and Governing Body at St Theresa’s Primary school during a particularly difficult period and was interviewed by HMI inspectors when the school was judged as good.
I also work as a BPSI Colleague Governor where I support on BPSI governance reviews, I have worked with SGOSS to recruit governors for other schools.
I have been a parishioner at St Mary Immaculate and St Peter, New Barnet, since 2002. I have worked in finance for the past 30 years and am currently employed by the Financial Conduct Authority.
I am a Eucharist minister and confirmation catechist. I am passionate about education and to ensuring that each child achieves their own personal best. The Catholic ethos in our school ensures we celebrate each child’s uniqueness. My role is to ensure effective governance which achieves the best possible outcomes for children in our care.
