Mr Christopher Tarbet

I was born in Cardiff and received a Christian education for the entirety of my academic journey. I studied for my Bachelor’s Degree between the years of 2013 and 2016 at Middlesex University, so have fostered a long-term connection and association to the community of Hendon. I returned to London in 2021 to study for my Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) at St Mary’s University, Twickenham, and secured a job as a Class Teacher at St Joseph’s shortly after receiving my QTS in 2022. At St Joseph’s, I successfully completed my two-year ECT (Early Career Teacher) Induction programme, and was offered a Subject Leadership role in Music last year. This has given me the opportunity to lead the Junior Choir here at St Joseph’s, who have performed at a variety of events and concerts, including at the Barnet Schools Music Festival – an annual concert held at the Arts Depot in North Finchley.

I bring a strong commitment and dedication to both educational excellence and faith-based values. My vision can help guide the school towards achieving its mission, balancing academic success with spiritual growth. My skills in Subject Leadership and collaboration will foster effective teamwork among staff, fellow governors, parents, and the St Joseph’s community. Additionally, my dedication to upholding and staying loyal to Catholic traditions and promoting moral development ensures that the school’s ethos is consistently reflected in its policies and practices. Overall, I aim to enhance the school’s environment, support its mission, and contribute to the development of its students.
